A Poodle

Hi folks, sorry for another delay. I've been hard at work on my new mysterious line of jewellery, and also caring for this cute little guy!

His name is Lambchop, and he's currently our foster dog. He's a poodle-spaniel, and we think he's the sweetest little thing ever. He's quite different from Joanie (our previous foster dog whom we loved, and who died of heartworm complications); he hasn't had the tough life she did, so he's better socialized to living with humans. We're having a wonderful time living with him.

As soon as I get a suitably obscure detail of some of my new work done, I'll post pics of it here for you to examine and marvel over. I know you do that. Even if you don't...you will be blown away by what's coming next from VL. I'm excited! =D

See you soon,

GM.

Sad News =(

Sad for me, anyway. To explain my absence of late, here it is: my foster dog Joanie, whom I was going to adopt as soon as she got back from her visit to the vet a week ago, died while she was there. She was only a year and a half old, and I had her for a month. I'm telling myself that she had a happy home with us for the first time in her life, and that maybe our purpose was to help her see that not all humans are bad, but I'm still really sad. I've been grieving, and therefore not doing much blogging or jewellery-ing. It's been a few days, and although I'm still heartbroken, I'm afraid grief doesn't pay in the monetary sense, so I'll get back down to work soon. Who knows, maybe it'll make me feel better.

See you soon,

GM.

Joanie!

Hey, guess what?? I'm fostering a rescued storm dog from Louisiana! Her name is Joanie and she's awesome. She's scared of everything and she has mange, so she was a tough sell at the SPCA, but she's doing pretty well here. The last family who fostered her said they couldn't get her out of the crate in 5 months, which makes me seem like a dog whisperer when you consider that she came right out into the living room 5 minutes after we got her here. Here she is!

Isn't she adorable? I'm so happy she's here =)

A Dog a Day: Jack Skellington

Before I tell you about Jack Skellington, I have good news: Nelly, the adorable beagle cross from the last dog post, found her forever home a few days ago! Yay!
Here's Jack:
Jack Skellington is a German Shepherd cross. He's big and strong but gentle and generally awesome. He'd be perfect for a family with a big yard and a park nearby. His profile says he's sweet and shy, which is pretty much what I got from meeting him. Look at that handsome doggy face, ready to make you totally popular at the dog park (if you happen to live in the Southern Ontario area)! From the name they gave him, it seems he's been there since Hallowe'en. He deserves a good home. Maybe posting about the dogs I've met is good luck, and he'll be going home soon.

I'll return with more canine coolness soon!

A Dog a Day: Nelly!

I met this dog Nelly at the SPCA today. She is wayy prettier in person. She's some kind of beagle cross, which makes her smelly - ie, she likes to smell things, not be smelly herself. She's a really good dog, though, as far as I can tell. So gentle and kind. Apparently she sometimes pees on the floor, which is not a plus, but can be dealt with if you have patience - she's a bit of an older dog. She also has really soft fur.

So I don't know if I'll be back with another dog tomorrow, but I will be back with one soon! I met a bunch today, and I think they all warrant their own little post.

Evening, lads and ladies!
